The room felt bright and pleasant, and the main shopping area was only about a two-minute walk away. The check-in lobby was very basic, but the location was good, right in the city.

I got a warm welcome as soon as I reached the lobby. The manager, who was a foreigner, was already chatting with me in a friendly way. My room was spotless, with a great view through floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out across 180 degrees. The bathroom also had heated floors...

Even though the area is busy, the hotel itself is quiet and not too far from the subway. Late at night, though, there’s nowhere nearby to get supper. The only place still open is the small supermarket downstairs. It made me wonder if people in Shanghai turn in early. Booking ahead seems like the way to get a cheaper room.

There’s a supermarket that recently opened close by, and the hotel also has good amenities. It’s near the Bund and the prices felt reasonable. Staff were polite, friendly, and gave excellent service.
