InterContinental Xiamen

A lovely view, good service, and international food choices make this one of the best hotels. The staff and front desk were very helpful, and the hotel management had close interaction with customers.

The rooms are quite nice and clean, but the service is terrible, and this hotel isn't worth staying at. It's a shame for an IC brand. Breakfast made me feel like I was in a fish slaughter room, with no attention to detail. When I complained, they promised to do better, but things got even worse. I wouldn't recommend it.

The staff made this already great stay amazing. They were kind and helpful, and helped us plan trips and find specific places. My wife wanted to visit a long-lost relative, but we only had a vague idea where they lived. Gemma Chen in the lounge spent about 30 minutes online finding the specific address we could use for DiD. Thank you, Gemma, you were amazing. Everyone else was friendly and helpful too. We had a great ocean view from our spacious room, with plenty of storage space, a very clean modern bathroom, and super comfortable robes. The club lounge also had a lovely view and a wonderful food selection, though its liquor choices were a bit limited. The gym wasn't huge but had most of what I needed, including a Smith machine, dumbbells and bench, and cable machines. The pool was really nice, but it was too hot and sunny outside, so we stayed away from it. Check-in was smooth, quick, and friendly, and as a Diamond member I got a kind upgrade to the Club floor. I usually don't have staff carry my luggage, but the lobby guy was so funny and kept telling jokes that I couldn't say no. The location was decent, about 25 minutes from the airport. There's not much around the hotel since it's a convention center area, but the mall next door had lots of restaurants. DiDi rides to the more popular parts of Xiamen on the other side of the island took about 20-30 minutes. I travel often for work and have stayed at plenty of hotels around the world, especially in China. This is one of the best I've ever stayed in, and my wife agreed it was an amazing experience.

The rooftop pool has a great view, especially at night, and the breakfast buffet was banging. Our modern, comfortable room looked out over Xiamen bay, which was stunning. Great service too. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
