Hotel Casona del Virrey

The house itself is beautiful, with lovely gardens and a strong colonial feel. But it’s overrated at four stars and doesn’t come close to that standard. I picked it because it has a sauna, then found out there’s an extra fee to use it. I didn’t even dare touch the jacuzzi; maybe they just needed to replace a part while I was there, but it didn’t look hygienic. I was surprised to see other people getting in without hesitation. Breakfast was only acceptable, definitely not what I’d expect from a four-star place. The staff were welcoming, kind, and helpful. The building has real potential, and I hope they invest in it. It needs work to live up to four stars and offer fair value for money.
