We came with our dog and had no trouble at all. There’s also a very sweet, well-behaved rescue dog, which says a lot to me about the kindness of the people behind this place. Everyone made us feel at home. Doña Marta was always attentive to what we needed and adapted the menu for us since we’re vegetarian. Don Camilo, the owner, welcomed us warmly with a big smile, and it’s clear this is a project he puts his heart into. He built the house and is around to help whenever you need something. Our room had a lovely terrace, perfect for reading and enjoying the atmosphere, and each spacious, clean room has its own bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and very complete. It’s one of the best places we’ve stayed, and the house itself is beautiful. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly too. We’ll be back, and recommend it 100%! I’d recommend going by car, since that’s the most practical way to get around and visit small towns. The house is only 12 minutes from Barichara.

The garden and shared areas are lovely places to sit with a book or just enjoy the quiet. That calm atmosphere made it easy to unwind. The included breakfast was delicious, with fresh bread, eggs made to order, fresh fruit, and very well-brewed coffee. The rooms felt cozy and homey, with high ceilings and furniture that seemed to have stories behind it. Everything was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. From the decor and cleanliness to the staff’s thoughtful attention, everything felt carefully looked after. The staff were warm, friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. You can tell they care about what they do, from the decor to the breakfasts and their suggestions about the area. I stayed at La Casa de Teja and enjoyed the whole experience. It brings rustic charm together with modern comfort. A real find, whether you’re after a romantic getaway, a relaxing trip, or even a longer stay. I’d recommend it without hesitation.
