I originally thought I’d stay in Barichara, but choosing Misia Custodia Hotel Boutique in Guane turned out to be a really good decision. Barichara is definitely worth visiting in Colombia, though Guane has even more charm and a very tranquil feel, with few tourists around. It’s 20 minutes past Barichara, at the end of the paved road.

After a hot walk, the pool was a welcome place to plunge in. The hotel has a pretty courtyard, a huge room and bed, and plenty of interesting travelers.

We booked three rooms, and all were equally clean, spacious, and in great condition, with lovely bathrooms. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help with anything they could. I was surprised to find such a gorgeous, quiet, well-designed hotel, built with the local rammed earth used in the area's architecture. It’s in Guane, about 15 minutes from Barichara, and absolutely worth the trip.

The owners are the nicest people, and the setting in this peaceful town is wonderfully calm. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel around 15 to 20 minutes from Barichara. The rooms are comfortable and nicely done, with simple but fitting decor that reflects the local architecture and style. Just right if you want somewhere peaceful and tranquil.
