Tinto Hostel

Javier gave us a really helpful tourist map when we checked in, and the location is excellent. The hostel is stunning, with beautiful shared spaces. Our private room was spacious and nicely decorated, and the kitchen was clean and well stocked.

The service was really good, and the place made me feel part of the little town I was visiting. It's one of the best hostels I've stayed in, with traditional colonial buildings that have been preserved.

We had such a good week at tinto hostel. The outdoor spots were a highlight, lots of shade and a breeze, with views over town and birds calling while we read, played cards, or ate dinner. Our private double room was huge and the bed was really comfortable. The pool is lovely, though the water is freezing, and the shower's cold too. In a town as hot as Barichara, that didn't bother me. The host was so kind and shared plenty of local tips. He even let us use a private room when we'd booked a dorm, which was generous of him. I'd happily come back.

The terrace has a beautiful view across Barichara, and being right in the center made it easy to get around. Javier was so welcoming and kind that the hostel started to feel like home. I meant to stay a week, then extended because I was so comfortable there. One little idea: a designated smoking area could make the shared spaces nicer for everyone.
