AZ Hotel

I stayed for 4 nights. The rooms are simple but welcoming, and most of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. One person, who seemed to be the chef or admin, was less accommodating. Breakfast was included in our booking, but when I asked for an extra piece of toast, she wanted to charge 1500 cop per slice. That’s about 50 cents Canadian each. The other staff seemed ready to just give me the toast. It felt a bit frugal to charge for every little thing, even if technically they can. I also had an avocado left over and asked if they could wrap it in plastic so I could keep it. The same woman looked at me like she might charge for a piece of plastic, though they didn’t since it was the end of the wrap, lol. The rest of the staff were super nice.

I needed to renew my passport and wanted somewhere near the US embassy. This place was perfect, within walking distance, and the staff and room were great. I’d definitely recommend it and stay again when we go in feb!

I sleep well here, and the bed was comfortable. The room was a decent size, though a bit tight, and the bathroom was good. But the towels smelled funny and were very, very hard. I live in the US and have stayed at many hotels in Colombia. This was the first time I was charged taxes despite showing my US passport as ID. I also asked for a receipt or other proof of payment, but was told it wasn’t in the system and they’d send it to me. NOT recommended, there are many choices.

The hotel is modern and spotless, with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service. The staff go above and beyond. It’s within walking distance of the US embassy, small food joints, stores, and local transportation stops. You can arrange a shuttle to or from El Dorado airport through a third party, and the trip takes 10 minutes.
