I enjoyed mixing with both locals and tourists here. It's a charming square with music, and people often put on entertainment for the locals. There are plenty of places to try traditional chicha drinks or get something to eat. Just walking around among the wall art and colorful buildings is an experience on its own.

For a taste of traditional, old Bogotá, this area is a must. Be careful about what you drink. If you aren't with a local, it's better to visit in daylight and not too late.

A good spot to stop for a beer or a nice lunch in the square, and it's near the Botero museum and other places. It's also a great starting point for a tour of LA Candaleria, with the route downhill from here. Calles 10 and 11 are among the city's most picturesque.
