Estadía El Dorado

Good value for what you pay. My room had a shared bathroom, but it was very clean. The location is handy for Bogota airport. I'd stay here again.

The beds are cheap and small, and sharing a "double bed" may not be a great choice. During the day it gets pretty noisy, and the reception staff are extremely loud at night, so bring earplugs. It's a worn-down "motel," but the staff are really friendly and speak English. The airport is walkable in 20-30 min, and there's also a shuttle during the day. They can arrange an airport transfer for 20.000 COP too. Bathrooms are shared, with hot showers that actually work, and towels and soap are included.

The owner, I think, was very kind and accommodating, and speaks fluent ENGLISH, which is quite rare in general. The rooms are clean, though nothing special. Bathrooms are proper, and the showers are clean with hot water. For the price and location, it's hard to do better. There's a shuttle, but the airport is just a 15 minute walk away. You can also take the free white bus with opai written on it, which goes to the airport. The stop is right below the pedestrian bridge. There's a small pharmacy in the lobby too, with pretty much everything, including food, coffee, and shampoo.

My daughter stayed at Estadia El Dorado last week. After sleeping for two hours, she found a blood-covered bedbug on her pillow, apparently after it had bitten her. She left the room right away and reported it in the lobby. They refunded her, but she was still afraid of bringing bedbugs home and threw out her backpack and three pairs of brand new shoes. The lost items cost close to $300, and she went through significant physical and emotional distress. The hotel manager denied the incident completely and said there are no bedbugs in Bogota, which is simply a lie. She also suggested my daughter had brought them herself, which is impossible because she had been staying with me beforehand and I know we didn't have bedbugs. The one bright spot was the man at reception that night, who was kind and tried to calm her down. Stay away from this hotel, there are bedbugs here!
