The restaurant was the one bright spot: the food was tasty and well prepared, though not especially cheap. The location in Usaquén is good too. Those are the only reasons I’m giving two stars instead of one. I stayed at Hotel Bogota Regency for 5 days and left very disappointed. It calls itself a 4-star hotel but didn’t meet basic standards. We had to phone the front desk several times for towels and toiletries. They kept promising to help, then ignored us, with no follow-up. The room was ancient, with broken windows and sills and poor plumbing. There was no mini-bar, coffee mugs, or even a toilet brush. We were given just 2 towels for everything, without hand or face towels, and there were no floor mats. The bathroom floor was extremely slippery and dangerous, and the toilet paper was the lowest quality. After a meal, we called to have the trays collected, but nobody came. My girlfriend eventually had to take the dirty dishes down to the lobby herself. Bogota gets very cold at night, but there was no heating or climate control, and we were freezing. If you want 4-star comfort and service, stay away. This is a budget hotel with a fancy name.

The views through the rounded windows on the 9th floor were incredible, and the rooms are spacious. We spent 10 days mostly indoors after a small cosmetic surgery, and having that view and room size was a blessing. The hotel is a bit old and starting to show its age, so it could use an upgrade. Still, for the price and location, you can’t go wrong. There’s no microwave or good-sized smart TV, unfortunately, but the price, location, and incredibly attentive service are good reasons to stay.

Felipe was especially caring and helpful with travelers. The rest of the team were great too, from housekeeping to the front desk and security. I’m glad I booked here. There’s no restaurant service after breakfast, though Santa Barbara is nearby and has plenty of places to eat.

The breakfast was amazing, and staff responded quickly whenever we asked for anything. We were happy with the room, service, and hotel overall, especially for the very good price. It could use some maintenance, and travelers would benefit from easier access to power outlets in the rooms.

The front desk guy was no help when I asked what was going on, and nobody even apologized. Wi-Fi was out for half of Christmas Day, so I couldn't talk to my family. Easily the worst hotel in Colombia.
