I loved the stay. The futuristic feel made for a really pleasant atmosphere, and being inside the shopping center meant I could use its parking garage and feel secure. The upper-floor location also made the food court a handy, varied place to eat, and visiting the shops during the day was quite an experience. It worked especially well for a few hours’ rest or an unexpected overnight stay, which is what I needed. A couple of practical changes would help: shelves inside the capsule for small suitcases, and wall hooks for clothes. The lockers are a good idea, but guests shouldn’t have to bring their own padlock, the hotel could provide one. I also found the laundry useful, though an ironing service or a shared spot with a table and iron would be worthwhile.

It’s a different kind of experience, and everything was clean and well organized. They should improve communication between staff, though. On WhatsApp we were quoted $50,000 per hour for couples to use the jacuzzi, but when we went to pay, the price had gone up by $10,000.

The showers were better than the ones I’ve used at other capsule hotels, and the bed itself was comfortable. The capsules are an average size, though their thin wooden construction and cabinet-like doors leave lots of gaps. They don’t lock or block sound, so you can hear everything in and out. I was in an upper pod when I felt a slight tremor around 2 a.m. It was barely noticeable, according to the news the next day, but the wooden structure made it feel pronounced. That design needs work. I was also worried about arriving around midnight. The number on Maps went straight to voicemail, and the plaza is closed at night, but a security guard is always there. Tell them you’re going to Caps Hotel, and they’ll confirm your reservation and guide you across the plaza. So the 24-hour access is real. The location worked well for me, though I’d originally wanted the sold-out hotel near the airport. If you’re not coming from the airport, this spot is convenient, with easy access to everything. The facilities seemed good overall. A few practical things could be better. There’s nowhere designated for towels, so people hang them outside their capsules and water drips once they’re wet. The bathroom and shower lights use sensors, but mine only picked me up at the entrance and switched off while I was showering, leaving me in the dark, haha. There’s no suitcase space either. Reception said to leave mine inside and assured me it was safe, and nothing happened, but a small compartment for each capsule would make sense. The staff were very friendly and helpful with questions, and they helped me sort out problems I had outside the hotel. Despite the good and bad, I’d recommend it. Capsule hotels are an affordable option, and the value for money here is worth it.

There’s a lot of food choice in the shopping center, and you can work remotely from your capsule, the shared areas, or even outside in the center. WiFi ran at 30-50 Mbps. It’s also close to Paloquemado station, though tourist attractions are a bit far away. Maybe only the market square is nearby. Service was excellent and friendly, the place was comfortable, towels are provided, and there are several restrooms. Medium backpacks fit in the lockers, but bring your own padlock. They also have a jacuzzi you can use by the hour for COP 35-50.

I put 24 million into this business model after being promised it would bring in $800,000 a month. So far, it hasn’t even made $40,000. A lot of people are reporting missed payments and closures, and it feels like the business is dying because nobody is giving answers.
