Hotel Villa Karina

The room was hot and uncomfortable, but what really made me leave was being charged again for a night I had already paid for. I was looking for an affordable hotel and stayed from July 12. I paid through July 19, then on July 20, a holiday, I gave cash to the person covering the front desk for one more night. The next day I paid for a few more days, and by July 25 I paid for four more, which should have covered me through July 28. When I later gave the regular receptionist the money, she said it only paid through July 27 because she had no record of the July 20 payment. I described the person I'd paid and showed my electronic ledger showing the payment to someone else that day, but she didn't believe me. I asked her to check the footage from July 20. She said the boss had to authorize that, and the boss was away from Bogota for a week. Since the payment hadn't been entered by the person working that day, I had to pay for the same night again. I left after that. I couldn't believe they were treating me like I was lying when I was a guest and had shown that I'd paid. If you're staying more than a week and paying cash, get receipts every time, whoever is working reception. I understand how people in this country are, once they know you're a foreigner, they'll try every way to rip you off.
