Breakfast was inconsistent, but everything else worked out well for me. The hotel is clean, affordable, and right in central Bogotá, so it was great value.

The attached restaurant was a nice surprise, especially since I found a couple of tasty vegan choices on the lunch and dinner menus. Breakfast comes with the room and has a decent range of vegetarian options, though very little for vegans. I also really liked the hotel itself, it was cute, comfortable, clean, and easy on the budget in central Bogotá.

We changed our plans and booked somewhere else after seeing the entrance area. We arrived around 6 AM to leave our bags, and the scene out front felt like a chaotic flea market. It raised safety concerns and put us off. The inside might be pleasant, judging by the photos and other reviews, but the surroundings weren't what we expected. Future guests should know about the area outside as well as the lobby and rooms.

The staff were really helpful. The room is decent considering the hotel's age, though it gets a bit noisy, so earplugs come in handy.

From Hotel Virrey Central, it was an easy walk to the Gold Museum, La Candelaria, and other major sights around Bogotá. The team were friendly and attentive, and the place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is basic but good for the price. It's a convenient, affordable stay in the city center, and I'd recommend it.
