My stay was a nightmare. The streets nearby were empty and felt dangerous at night. On my first night, a man was robbed beside me, just one minute from the hotel. When I checked out, the hotel asked me to pay 20% more for VAT even though I’m a tourist. It was the only hotel in Colombia that did this to me. The rooms are tiny, the staff were rude and sometimes hostile, and the toilet didn’t flush properly. When I told reception, the two employees looked at each other and laughed. It felt like they went out of their way to make me uncomfortable, and they succeeded.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel was very clean. I liked the shower, pillows, and breakfast. My only complaint is that the rooms are tiny and stuffy, and the bathroom fan or vents didn’t work.

Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices and eggs made to order. The reception team were great and pointed me to a fantastic local restaurant, and housekeeping did a good job. The ground floor was clean and open, with breakfast and a couple of vending machines. I would have liked a water dispenser. My room was cozy, and the blackout blinds helped me sleep. The shower was excellent, but I wish I could have let fresh air in because the room got stuffy. The hotel is about a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport and has a good 24-hour reception. It’s not right by the main attractions, but you can walk or take a short, inexpensive taxi ride. If you’re there on a Sunday, check out the weekly bike ride, 121 km of roads closed to traffic for cyclists, runners, and walkers. It’s been a tradition since 1970, and I wish I’d known earlier. I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make guests happy. The place was super clean.
