Angelinho, the events manager, made a big difference to my stay. They created a friendly, social atmosphere where it was easy to meet people and enjoy the days and nights. The activities, from sports to drinking events, were well organised, lively, and fun. You can tell they care about including guests and helping everyone have a good time. A big reason I’d recommend this hostel to other travellers. Thanks for making the trip memorable!

We had a really fun four days at El Rio Hostel. It’s definitely a party hostel, which suited us, and the place is otherwise top notch and worth visiting. G, one of the volunteers, was a lovely guy and gave great service at the amazing bakery. Reception could be slow, though. Staff were around, but queues often built up when people just had quick questions.

The parties every other day were a lot of fun, and the river is well worth enjoying. The food was good quality for the price, and the people in the communities were amazing. Manu at the front desk was really helpful, and the whole team was always ready to help and serve. Definitely come by.

We had so much fun at Rio. The hostel activities were great, and the organisers did a fantastic job. Matt in particular got us to try tipsy tubing and join the volleyball tournament, which made the stay even more fun. 10/10, I’d definitely recommend it. :)

El Rio is such a good hostel, and I’d recommend it to other travellers. I especially loved eating there: the food was delicious, and the restaurant staff were so accommodating. Tim Auckland made me feel welcome and went above and beyond throughout my stay.
