The location is ideal, and the place itself is perfectly okay, but we didn’t feel welcome there. The people running it were unfriendly and at times intimidating. They stared when we left our room and only spoke to us about money, which they rounded up. We arrived a couple of hours before check-in; although our room was ready, they said we’d be charged for an extra night if we went in. That’s unusual in South America, where hostels normally let you in early if the room is available. Breakfast was advertised as included, but there wasn’t any. We were also told off a couple of times for using the wrong bathroom and the wrong kitchen plates. It’s a pity, but we wouldn’t recommend it.

The garden was a nice place to hang out, and the atmosphere was great, with friendly staff. It’s on a quiet street near the busier part of El Poblado. The kitchen is a little small, and there’s no breakfast. While we were there, a Hostel world problem led to overbooking, but the staff really tried to fit everyone in and even bought blow-up mattresses.

The big garden has lots of plants and space, and it’s quiet without much traffic, which made the hostel a really relaxing place to be. The people working there were lovely and friendly, always doing their best to make you comfortable. I felt at home here and would recommend it in Medellin.

The garden is great, the TV works, and the prices are reasonable. The people are nice, too. Just adjust your expectations for breakfast, cleaning, and how well the services work. The staff are delightfully clueless, and there’s a bit of an anarchic feel to the place. Give it a try if that suits you. Charmingly trashy.

Federico was incredibly helpful, always ready to explain directions and learn about other cultures and people. The staff make you feel like part of their family, and Romy does so much. Free breakfast is included, too. Federico is an amazing person, and I’d definitely stay here again.
