Gitana del Mar Boutique Beach Resort

I had a really relaxing massage, and the atmosphere was lovely. My room was very clean, the food was great, and I didn't get sick or have any bad experiences. I also didn't see any cockroaches during my stay. Gitana was beautiful and peaceful, and the staff felt like family. I had an incredible time here with a yoga retreat this week. Philippe the bartender is the best. It's a one of a kind experience, and I'll always love this place and appreciate the time I spent in Colombia. Just be aware that the beach on the property isn't swimmable, so you'll need to walk about a mile to swim.

The room was too hot for me to sleep the first night, but I worked out how to adjust the ceiling fan and slept much better the second night. On weekends, nearby parties played loud music late into the night, so bring earplugs. I spent a week here for a yoga retreat, and it was magnificent. The place is beautiful, the hotel staff are fantastic, and the food surpassed all my expectations. Everyone made us feel at home. The massages were amazing, and everyone who had one said they were 100% worth it. Luz at the beach bar was our bestie, just a beautiful soul. The kitchen staff and chef were kind and accommodating, and often went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. It was a magical experience, and I'd return without hesitation.

The hotel arranged a taxi to our next destination on the day we left, and even surprised us with packed lunches. Before our stay, they asked about our dietary needs and food preferences, then took them into account at every meal. The chef chose what to serve instead of offering a menu or buffet, but every dish was excellent, with a mix of local and international flavors. Water, tea, and coffee were available all day at no extra cost. The grounds were beautiful, with a calm, relaxing jungle setting that felt close to nature. We stayed two nights and were very happy with our choice. The staff were kind and helpful from the moment we arrived, and even though it was late in the evening, they welcomed us with a full dinner. We'd definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We had an amazing week at the Chandra Vida yoga retreat, which I highly recommend. The hotel by the sea feels idyllic and quite magical. The staff were wonderful, the food was incredible, and you should definitely try the spa if you go. Thanks so much for taking such good care of us!
