Las Cascadas Hostel Tayrona

The rooms were clean, with good AC and WiFi, and we really liked the pool. Food was great at every meal, with plenty of vegetarian choices. The owners are super friendly, too. It’s right by the highway, across from the bus, and only about a 15-minute drive from the Tayrona park entrance. Great value for the price.

I happened to be there during what was apparently one of Colombia’s worst storms in three years. The hosts kept the place and restaurant open just for us. They were incredibly warm and grateful, and I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Diana and John own and run the place, and they were great hosts, answering all our questions and even helping us rent a motor. Diana cooks all the food, and it was delicious. Breakfast is included, and the room has what you need, including air conditioning. You can walk to the waterfalls and the beach, which is beautiful though a bit rough for swimming. There isn’t much nearby, so your own transport helps if you want more evening food options, though they can call a mototaxi. Buses are easy to catch during the day.

We planned on two nights and stayed six. The place was cozy and convenient, with lovely, helpful staff and delicious food at good prices. A quiet beach is about a 20-minute walk away, and the beautiful waterfall takes a 30-minute hike to reach. Really recommend it. Thanks again, Sini and Alexander.
