Ambar Hotel Boutique Cali

The place was simple, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and answered my questions about the city. It's a bit away from the city center, but taxis were very cheap.

Ambar is very clean and in a great spot, and the other staff had been nice and helpful. My experience with Andrés at reception was the opposite. I had booked the jacuzzi with him, but when it was our turn the water was freezing. He said he needed five minutes to help other guests check in, then would call my room. I waited a long time and heard nothing, so I went back downstairs. He was sitting casually at his desk. When I asked if he was still coming, he said he'd told me he would call. I explained I'd been waiting, and he said “No service,” basically refusing to fix the problem. I couldn't believe it. He scolded me, and when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, he said no. He also refused to give me his name, which I later got from another staff member. He was mean to me for no reason.

The staff were very accommodating and it's a lovely place to stay. Just be aware that the “mountain views” listed on Booking.com aren't accurate, and “breakfast included” means there's only one breakfast choice.

The rooms are really cozy, the food is good, and the service was great. I'd definitely recommend it.
