The staff were really warm and welcoming, and there were comfortable beds and simple showers. There are nice places to sit and relax, and it’s an easy enough walk to the centre and the dock. One issue for me was the cats: I’m allergic, and they slept in my room, leaving lots of hair. Mosquitoes were also a problem, especially in the bathroom and bedroom.

Zeus is such a sweet dog! The staff are kind and speak both languages, and Johanna was a great host as well as a fantastic diving instructor. The beds are comfortable, and the mosquito nets were helpful at night. It’s a lovely spot in the Colombian rainforest, close to the sea, where you can get away from everyday noise and have a few quiet days. The WiFi is reliable if you do want to stay connected.

Johanna took care of everything for me, and I had a great time. The hostel is surrounded by nature right in the jungle, which made the whole stay amazing. I’d definitely come back.

Joha made me feel right at home and gave me ideas for things to do around town and beaches to visit. She also made an amazing breakfast every morning. La Bohemia has a lovely laid-back vibe, and I had a great time there.
