I’d recommend it. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked out perfectly. The staff were friendly and very professional.

Really good service, and the accommodation was excellent.

The location puts you right in the middle of things, with shops, restaurants, cafes and the casino close by. Still, the street noise made it hard to sleep. Motorcycles, trucks honking and people talking outside started as early as 5 or 5:30 in the morning. For a night or two it’s manageable, but staying more than three days would be really difficult. The hotel feels old and could use remodeling. The doors don’t feel secure, and they should do more to keep the noise out. There’s no air conditioning, though it was cold enough inside that I didn’t need it; they do have a fairly large fan, but I’d still prefer AC. The lobby was another problem. It’s small, and when it rained, water came through several leaks in the ceiling, so I couldn’t sit there while waiting for my taxi. As for the staff, the receptionist came across as very curt. She wasn’t rude, exactly, but didn’t greet us or ask how things had gone when we checked out, and she wouldn’t make eye contact. I ended up just walking past her during my stay. I also asked a man at reception where to get breakfast, and he started asking who I was with and what room I was in. The way he asked and looked at me felt suspicious, especially since I only wanted directions. It didn’t seem professional. I don’t think I’d stay here again.

The clean bed and hot water were the only real basics that worked for me, which is why I gave it two stars rather than one. The walls had stains that made me uncomfortable, the internet was unreliable, and noise from the street and outside the room came right through the old style windows. It’s not somewhere I’d choose to relax. At night, you also need to be careful in the area because there are many homeless people nearby. The rate was hard to justify. Rooms are usually around $65-$75 USD a night, but during a concert weekend I paid $638 USD for two nights. The rest of my stay was back around $75 per night. After looking at the photos and seeing the room, $319 USD a night just doesn’t make sense.
