Hotel Cartagena Premium

We gave up on the reservation and went somewhere else, even though we lost the money. The photos don’t match reality. Rooms are cramped and poorly finished, with no soundproofing at all, no hot shower water, and a basic breakfast with little variety. This is definitely not the three-star hotel advertised. Stay away.

The location is nice, but the hotel itself was a pain. The rooms weren’t clean, the bathroom was a nightmare, and the service was worse. There was no phone to call reception, and the AC didn’t work, among other problems. Check-out was the worst part. An employee had hidden the towels, then they tried to charge me because the towels weren’t in the room. I offered to let them search my luggage, and only then did they find the towels.

The room was nothing like the resort I thought I was booking. The bed was on the floor, and the shower was in the room, so I could see someone using it if I looked left while lying down. The toilet was in a tiny space where my knees touched the wall when I sat. There was no AC in the lobby either. The bar wouldn’t take credit cards, and the hotel staff were annoying and mean. When my friend brought someone back, they charged for a three-hour visit, then came knocking in the middle of the night demanding more money because the time was up. They came back at 6 am and kept knocking and asking to be paid right away, as if my sleep didn’t matter. I don’t think I’ll ever return to this “resort.”

For the price, I liked it honestly. You get what you pay for, so don’t complain. The location is a big plus, close to El Centro and the plazas, and there’s a grocery store five minutes away. Breakfast was good and saved us money. The rooms are small, but you can switch to another room of the same size with a different layout at no cost. I did that because the bathroom was too small. My AC was cold and the shower was hot.
