Casa Quero Boutique-hotel

The staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and helped with practical things too. They arranged a taxi to Barranquilla at a fair price and took care of our laundry. We left it in the morning and got it back clean, dry, and folded that afternoon, helped along by the great weather. Breakfast felt personal, with just six tables in the restaurant and a menu they were happy to adjust to our preferences instead of a large buffet. We stayed four nights, and the old town location was perfect for walking to the main sights. The area also felt safe when we walked back at night. Our room had a high ceiling, an adjoining balcony, classy decor, and was clean and well maintained. I loved the boutique feel and would definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel feels very authentic and is in a great spot near bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful, though Google Translate comes in handy. We had trouble getting a hot shower, and the windows are single glazed. Our room faced the restaurant and lobby, so once breakfast started, the noise carried in.

The friendly staff went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. They let us use their computer to plan the rest of our travels and helped us make tea when we got back from dinner. The bedroom was comfortable, with efficient AC and all the amenities you'd want, though it showed some wear. There was no hot water, but in Cartagena's heat that wasn't a problem. The calmer part of the walled city is a lovely location, and the common areas are grand and tastefully furnished, especially the striking entrance and inner courtyard. A great stay, highly recommended.

My stay was uncomfortable the whole time, and the place felt overpriced. The manager and front desk had no customer service etiquette. The staff were extremely rude, and I was ignored more than once.
