Hotel Boutique Tierra Del Mar Cartagena

Marisol was so attentive, and the decor has a lot of character and feels thoughtfully done. We loved staying at hotel tierra del mar. Prices were much lower than in the city centre, which is only a short drive or about a 20-minute walk away.

It's a cozy, comfortable place, and there's a convenience store right beside the hotel. The owner went above and beyond for us. I'd strongly recommend staying here, it's just what you need in Cartagena.

A great, budget friendly place to stay!

The room I picked had no natural ventilation, which I could understand given where it is in the hotel, but there was no working ventilation system either. It smelled damp, and leaving the door open to air it out didn't help. I suspect the damp was coming through the wall. The bathroom had no separate ventilation like an extractor fan, and a plastic curtain did little to keep its damp smell from reaching the room. Shower pressure was very low, too. There were other issues. The listing didn't mention before booking that card payments carry a 1.5% surcharge, which raised the final price. They said it was for a more “secure” system, but I've never had to pay that percentage on past stays, since the card company usually covers it. The listing should also say there's no 24/7 reception. A night watchman is available if you need something, but guests should know this before booking. I don't recommend this hotel. You can find better value and facilities elsewhere in the city or area. If you want a private room, I'd suggest paying a little more for another hotel.
