There was a very unpleasant smell throughout the place, along with mosquitoes, mold, mice, rats, and cockroaches. Things were broken and nothing seemed to work, while prices felt much higher than they should be. During my stay, my money also went missing. There were aggressive dogs, and one bit me, and I found some of the people there wild and dangerous. The staff and reception acted as if they could overstep their authority. They wanted to inspect all my documents, as if they worked for immigration, and check my belongings for prohibited items. They had no right to do that, and their questions about my documents felt intrusive and stupid. They repeatedly invaded my personal space and made me uncomfortable. In my experience, very narrow-minded people work there. This was the worst hostel, or hotel, I've ever encountered. Don't book or even consider staying here. Choose somewhere else and enjoy life in this terrible city. Thank you.

I just saw the owner's claim that I “evaded the payment on the first day with lies.” That's pretty entertaining. They didn't ask me to pay on the first day, so there was no need to make anything up. Why not say what these supposed lies were? Now I'm curious. I also noticed the positive reviews all seem to be from locals and translated by Google, with no international tourists. Are they from friends and family?

After my flight, I had to find another room at 11pm. We'd contacted the owner on WhatsApp and booked directly, and he confirmed he was holding a room for us. But when we arrived, the manager said they'd overbooked and hadn't taken my réservation. They'd also told me before I arrived that they might cancel a reservation if I wanted to stay longer. They said this wasn't the first time they'd done something like this. Be careful with this hostel. I wouldn't recommend staying there.

The dorms are cheap, but you get what you pay for. It was clean enough and the staff were okay, but it was very hot, with AC only at night. The price was good, just not worth it for me. I'd only suggest it if you're on a really tight budget. Spend a few bucks more and you can have a great experience downtown.

The good thing is that it's close to both the airport and the historical center. But you'll need to take an Uber everywhere. Paying in dollars made it very worthwhile for me.
