Mood Matuna Hotel Cartagena

The private pool room was absolutely worth booking, and it made our stay at Mood Matuna hotel fantastic from beginning to end. The room was sensational, and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was included and filling, with fruit, granola, bread, coffee, and juices. It's a great location too, about a 5 minute walk from most of the places we wanted to visit. This was the final stop on our Colombia trip and our favorite hotel. Highly recommend it.

The breakfast was plenty, despite some comments we had read. Staff were great, speaking Spanish and English, and some also spoke French. We felt at home with all the closet space for our things. The bed was comfortable and spacious enough, and I liked the bathroom setup, with the shower and toilet completely separate from the part in the room. The different lighting and the room's painting give the place a lot of charm. Nice, very clean hotel in the center of Cartagena.

Getsamani is right across the street, and the Walled City is less than 2 blocks away, so the location is hard to beat. The central area has been given a fantastic makeover and looks lively with lights and activities at night. The staff are wonderful and friendly, and the rooms are very nice, with hot water on demand in the shower. I didn't try the restaurant because I have a few places I always visit when I'm in the city. If you rely on wifi, stay elsewhere.

A quick workout is easy in the small gym, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable, with two king-size beds and great AC. The staff are very friendly, and the location works well for reaching tourist areas. The shower gets warm, but not hot, and the room could use better bathroom lighting, towel hooks, and a shelf for toiletries. The main problem was a transportation mix-up. We booked a round trip through the hotel and were quoted a fare similar to Uber, but the driver charged us twice as much on the return. Neither the hotel nor the transport company offered to correct the mistake or even make a small gesture for the extra cost. Tourists can run into this kind of trap, so get every quote in writing and be careful.
