We stayed in both a private room and a dorm, and both were good quality. There’s a small balcony upstairs that’s lovely for sitting and thinking over the day. Bathrooms are on both floors, and there’s a small kitchen and washing machine downstairs that guests can use at certain times. The place is pretty and clean, with gorgeous bougainvillea on the gate and fence. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, still close enough to walk to the old town. The three women on staff we met were incredibly kind and welcoming, and always went out of their way to help. This was the most amazing accommodation we had in Colombia. We loved it and can’t recommend it enough!

Clean, air-conditioned, and equipped with everything needed. The staff are really nice too. Nothing to complain about, I’d definitely come back. Easy five stars :)

The place felt pretty average. There aren’t enough toilets for the number of guests, and they’re not well maintained, with toilet paper often gone. Staff control the AC, so I was freezing in the morning and too hot before bed.

The private room was great, and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, especially the scrambled eggs, which were the best of our trip. We ate a lot of scrambled eggs in Columbia! The two women at reception, who also serve breakfast, were so warm and lovely. This Hostal had the friendliest staff we met on our whole trip around Columbia. It could use more toilets for the number of guests, but the value for money is unbeatable.

The dorm beds are pretty squeezed together, though that didn't bother me since I only used the room to sleep. The downstairs bathroom is small, but the ones upstairs are roomier and more comfortable. I had a great short stay at San Jacinto. Everyone was so friendly, kind, welcoming, and communicative. My Spanish isn't very good, but they made an effort to talk with me and explain things I asked about. The receptionists and breakfast cook were all lovely.
