Finca Temática Cafetera Las Mercedes

The view was spectacular, and I got lucky with great weather during my stay. I really enjoyed being here and would definitely return next summer.

A very peaceful place with very good service.

We had such a good time at Las Mercedes Finca Cafetera. The staff made us feel welcome right away, and the Colombian food they cooked was delicious, homemade and authentic in a way that felt quite different from restaurant food. One of my favorite parts was the hands-on coffee tour. We followed the process from picking the beans through to tasting fresh Colombian coffee, and it was clear how much care they put into their work. The property is relaxing, with a pool, spa, fire pit, and play and entertainment area. It’s easy to spend the day there, get away from the city, and enjoy the quiet and nature. The bed and bathroom weren’t what you might expect at a 3-star hotel, but they were totally fine for sleeping and showering. We hadn’t come for a luxury room, so it didn’t bother us. I’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxing, different kind of finca stay.

The long trip from Bogotá and the unpaved roads weren’t ideal, but I came away very satisfied with the warm hospitality, lovely natural surroundings, and the experiences here. The coffee harvest and guided hike in the nearby mountains were especially fantastic. After a 7-kilometer hike, it was great to relax in the pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna, and the food was delicious too. Some of the things people wrote in other reviews sounded terrible, but I completely disagree. It’d be a shame to think you’d experienced Colombia after only seeing cities like Bogotá and Medellín. I’m seriously considering coming back.
