Hotel Los Puentes

The location isn’t bad, but it’s noisy, with lots of bars and clubs nearby, so getting a good night’s sleep was impossible. The rooms were comfortable enough, but plenty of basics were missing: no shampoo, cream, or conditioner, and hardly any hand soap or body gel. There’s only cold water, which seems especially inconvenient for a baby or an older person who needs a warm shower. You also can’t consume anything at the hotel unless you bought it there. If you bring in alcohol from elsewhere, they charge a “penalty,” which is ridiculous. I’ve never seen that at another hotel, where you can usually bring things from whichever store you like. It feels like they’re cutting expenses, and the quality is suffering. Booking lists two pools, but they only open one, and it’s usually full of children. They play loud, trashy music, so relaxing, napping, or reading is out of the question. Breakfast was dull too: the same “calentado” every day, mostly rice with a little beans, lentils, or pasta, plus a small serving of eggs and bread. They even charge extra for another portion of bread, and the fruit serving was the smallest I’ve seen at a hotel. That makes little sense when fruit here is cheap as chips. What a letdown. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I wouldn’t come back.
