La Martinera Aguas Abiertas

This meal was included in our all-day tour from Medellin to Guatape, and it was better than any other meal I've had here so far. My friend ordered the same dish with chicken, and it was really soft and juicy. I'd definitely recommend it!

I've never rated a hotel this low before, but this one gave me more than enough reason to be harsh. The lake view is amazing, it's pretty close to el Peñol, and breakfast is included in the booking fee. But getting checked in and out was a complete mess. After a 12-hour trip to get there, I was told to call the person handling the keys and check-in before I arrived. That person never answered. I tried other numbers I'd saved while booking and eventually reached someone, but by the time we got there nobody was around to welcome us or get us checked in. The woman on the phone tried to help, but she wasn't at the hotel. The staff there didn't respond, and my parents and I waited a couple of hours for the person responsible to show up. Then we waited another couple of hours because our room hadn't been cleaned. The walls were so thin I could hear the neighbors showering, flushing the toilet, and screaming, laughing, and crying as if I were in their room. Breakfast became another problem. I could choose only one kind from the menu, which wasn't a big deal, but something in the food or drinks was spoiled or contaminated. My family and I kept getting bloated and gassy, and between that and the noise we couldn't sleep well. I bet they were serving tap water or something like it. The room light also kept malfunctioning because of an electrical circuit problem, and I had to call someone every time to fix it. THE INTERNET WAS HORRIBLE!!! I had a great time when we were out enjoying the view, visiting Guatape, and climbing el Peñol. But I didn't enjoy the service or the place we had to rest, including the restaurant. If you just want a practical location near the main attractions and fairly cheap lodging, this could work. If you want comfort in your room and good service like a proper hotel should provide, don't set foot here. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The view is amazing, but we had a very bad experience with the tourist trap. The front desk staff tried to upsell us and charge double for services such as taxis.

The staff were really helpful, and the location was good. The rooms were very clean, though pretty basic for what we paid.
