Hotel Descanso del Arriero By Rotamundos

We picked this place for its central location and pleasant colors. We were offered the choice of a different room because ours had shutters facing the street and might be noisy. We went with the cozy street atmosphere and used earplugs. The room itself was disappointing. There was a strong sewer smell in the bathroom, and it reached the bedroom because the connecting door had no handle or lock and stayed ajar. The shower drain was clogged, maybe that's what caused the smell, and we had to wait fifteen minutes for the other person to shower. The bed was very uncomfortable, with a sort of plastic mattress. There was nowhere to put anything: no hooks, coat rack, closet, or shelves, so our things ended up on the floor. There were no outlets by the bed, only in the bathroom, and the room got very stuffy at night with no fan. Breakfast wasn't for us, though we're not picky. It was bland, overcooked scrambled eggs, a packet of dry crackers, a slice of bread, and a soggy slice of cheese. They didn't serve coffee, just some kind of hot chocolate (?). Jam, coffee, and a simple fruit salad would be easy improvements.

The service from both the owner and staff was terrible. The room flooded today. These things happen, but when they do, I think they should find a solution instead of ignoring it. We politely asked the girl for towels, and she very kindly replied that she wasn't kidding, even though the room hadn't even been given to us without towels.

Wow, this was the best hotel experience I could've had. I didn't even need to look for a restaurant, since they had excellent service and the best traditional food I've tasted in this beautiful place. I highly recommend it!

Good music, delicious food, and excellent service, all in a great location. They have Wi-Fi and more.
