Don’t stay here. The door locks barely work, and they charge extra for everything. When you’re leaving, they come to your room and inspect everything, even the bedsheets. They take pictures of the sheets in front of you and question you about them. The whole process felt strange and violating, and it definitely wasn’t worth it.

The setting is stunning, and we didn’t mind the rough road since that’s part of the charm of traveling in Latin America. Still, we wouldn’t return. For such an expensive hotel, the constant extra charges and weak service overshadowed the location. You pay extra for the pool, the beach, and even to light a fire in your cabin. You can’t reach the lake from your own villa, even though the private beach you have to pay for is right beside it, which defeats the point of booking a villa with those amenities. The rooms got unbearably hot in the daytime sun, with no AC, which we expected at this price. Two showers had no hot water for most of our stay; it wasn’t fixed until checkout, and nobody apologized. The villa’s back door also wouldn’t lock, so we felt unsafe. Service was poor throughout, especially at the front desk. The woman there was terribly rude, and we felt like a nuisance whenever we asked anything. I wish I’d read more reviews before booking, since many guests seem to have had similar disappointments. It’s a shame, because the hotel is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but the lack of attention to detail and lackluster service really let it down.

The views are breathtaking, and it’s so peaceful here. A wonderful place to stay, and the included breakfast was delicious.

The chalets are lovely and have all the amenities you’d want at home. A fan can come in handy during the day. It’s a beautiful spot for a little getaway, though the road to the hotel is in rough shape and could use work.
