Hotel Estelar Altamira

The reception team made a real difference. Julian, David, Paola, and Andre were warm, spoke excellent English, and went out of their way to help. The restaurant was another bright spot, with delicious food and drinks at very reasonable prices. I’d happily eat there again. The bed was comfortable, but sleep was rough. Street traffic came right through, and the old, loud air conditioning added to it. The hotel doesn’t seem soundproofed at all, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. Great staff and food, but that noise made a peaceful night hard to come by.

We’d had a great experience before at Tonnarello, especially with the Ossobucco and the excellent spagetti al burro, so my family and I chose it again for our last dinner. This time, the Calamari Fritti and pizza weren’t what we expected. My mother-in-law and her sister, both in their 80s, ordered a small ham and cheese sandwich from the Bambini menu. What arrived was a huge sandwich with a big bowl of French fries, far too much for them. We complained, and the manager listened, understood, and handled it professionally, saying they’d take further action. The hotel stay overall was very good, and the breakfast buffet was too.

The hotel has a relaxing, welcoming feel, and the property is beautiful. My room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. Every staff member I met was friendly and attentive, and the food was great too. I had a fantastic stay at Estelar Altamira Hotel in Ibague, and would highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay. There’s a huge pool, a hot Jacuzzi, and the dining was exquisite. It also felt peaceful out at the edge of the city. Thanks to Paola at reception for checking us in so quickly and giving us more time to enjoy the hotel.
