The breakfast was a real treat, especially the eggs with rice and beans, absolutely delicious. We couldn't believe how affordable the place was, though we're American. The hotel has a colorful colonial boutique look, almost like something from a Pixar movie, and the staff were very friendly. It's about a five-minute walk from Parque Principal, close enough for convenience but far enough to avoid the noise, even on NYE. Probably the most beautiful hotel I've stayed in. We can't wait to come back.

Pilar, the owner, went above and beyond helping us arrange horse rides, a cafe tour, a river trip, and more. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, especially the cuajada cheese and real corn arepas. El Despertar Hotel is breathtaking, with colorful, authentic details throughout. Many thanks to all the staff. We'll definitely return!

We accidentally booked the wrong night for our group of 12 and arrived a day early. The family moved heaven and earth to fit us in anyway, and even cooked us amazing food. They made our trip special. It's run by the sweetest family, mother, father, and daughter helping out, and the building, interior, and rooms are beautifully designed. All the greenery and lovely spaces make for a tasteful, authentic, relaxed atmosphere. Of all the hotels I've seen in the past couple of years, this was my favorite.

Loved @despertar hotel. The location is amazing, and the place has beautiful, colorful details with an authentic paisa feel. We couldn't have picked a better spot for our family trip. The staff were incredibly friendly, thanks Pili and Cristobal.

The rooms are decorated individually, and the hotel has a lovely interior space full of color and character. Some rooms don't have windows facing outside. Breakfast was hearty and good, and the sauna was a welcome treat. There's free parking on the street outside, and a code pad at the main door makes entry easy.
