For what the room costs, Pop Art Hotel gets six out of five stars for location and service, and five for the room. It's downtown, with attractions, coffee shops, and restaurants just minutes away on foot. Queso y Cafe is one minute away, across from the Olaza de Bolivar. If you're taking a bus between cities, I suggest using the cable car terminal to get to the bus terminal. The station is a 12 minute walk from the hotel. Sandra was attentive, friendly, and efficient. She introduced herself, and when she saw me heading out, she went to clean my room. I came back to find it very organized. The buffet breakfast has plenty of variety, and a couple of options change daily. If you like pork, you'll find lots of dishes with it. I don't eat pork, so I had fewer choices, but they made scrambled eggs for me when they saw I wasn't eating the egg with beacon. There's free water and coffee at reception, plus a couple of areas for table tennis and other table games. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the mountain view from my room was amazing. There was no fridge. I didn't use the safe because its wires were showing and I felt it was unsafe. There's no air conditioning, but you don't need it in a city colder than the rest of Colombia.

The hotel itself was comfortable and nice, and the breakfast was very good. But the reservation mess was awful. I arrived with a booking.com confirmation and physical proof of the reservation, yet staff told me they couldn't find it and had no rooms available. They said the booking operators in Bogota hadn't uploaded it, then offered a room if I canceled and paid up front. I did that, only to be told again there were no rooms. After an hour of going back and forth, I finally got a room, but at a much higher price than my original reservation. That's a terrible way to handle reservations.

The people who work there were nice, and that's the reason this gets two stars. I paid almost 1,200.00 for 18 days, about $66.00 a day, which was far too much. Based on the appearance, hard bed, no AC, and how uncomfortable it was, it's worth maybe $20-$25 a night. During my stay, the room wasn't cleaned one day, I was locked inside for about an hour another day, and my key card failed on a different day. Compared with Motel 6, Hotel Las Colinas makes Motel 6 look like a mom and pop shop. I'll never stay there again. Without the good staff, I'd give it zero.

I highly recommend it. The hotel is old fashioned in all the best ways, with a level of detail, quality, and professionalism across the staff that newer hotels just don't seem to have.

We booked a standard double through Agoda, and the 27 m² room was roomy enough for two. It faced another building, but despite having no air conditioning, it never felt warm during the day or at night. The Wi-Fi was free and had a great connection, and we had a flat-screen TV with plenty of channels, a safe, a minibar, and a comfortable king size bed. There's also a sauna and bar at the hotel. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choices on Sunday. The next day, perhaps because there weren't many guests, we were given a selection instead. A couple of things bothered us. There wasn't a socket for the minibar, so we had to unplug the TV to use it. Also, during check-in we handed over our Cedula as requested, but the staff entered our nationality incorrectly, even though it was clearly stated on the Cedula. We noticed on the printout when he asked us to sign. It might seem minor, but if something unfortunate happened and they needed to contact the embassy, it could delay things.
