This is in Leticia, CO, not Iquitos. I saw a Zafiro coffee shop or hotel or something in Iquitos, but that's not this place. And it's not in Quito either. Saying goodbye here was harder than anywhere I've ever stayed. I can't wait to come back and see the people again.

You get what you pay for. I had a sleepless night, even with earplugs. There was noise all night, maybe because it was Saturday.

The room was damp and had cockroaches, and the mattress was much too soft. The air conditioning barely cooled the room, and the shower pressure was low. The only saving grace was how friendly the reception staff were.

Even though I had booked ahead, they said every room was taken when I arrived and offered me one without a window. The staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean by local standards.

It was one of the worst rooms I've stayed in, and it wasn't even cheap. No windows, peeling paint, and a musty smell that was unbearable made it feel like a prison cell. The shower hose was broken, and the lighting was poor.
