Hotel Yurupary

My family and I stayed here on vacation in the Amazonas. The location is right in the middle of everything, and the pool was lovely for relaxing in the afternoons. The problem was the front desk service. On Friday, June 6, between noon and 9 p.m., two different women at reception were condescending, rude, and dismissive. My wife only asked for extra blankets and got a rude response, as if it wasn't their job. Why work in customer service if you don't enjoy dealing with people?

The one good thing is the location. It still wasn't worth staying here. The staff were unwelcoming, the rooms dusty and dirty, and a store across the street made noise until around 11:30 or midnight. I was moved to three different rooms because of dirt, mold, or a leaking air conditioner. The photos don't reflect the place. It looks like it was built maybe 40 years ago and never renovated, and the repairs around the building are poor quality. Service was awful, too. I rarely leave reviews unless a place is very good or very bad, and this was the worst experience I've had. Avoid the headache. Don't stay here. The service and rooms are terrible, and it's expensive for what you get. Find another hotel and save yourself the trouble.

The room felt a little dated and could use some renovation, but it had everything basic that we needed. The bed was huge and perfect, and the room kept out the street noise well enough that I slept without earplugs. Breakfast had lots of choices and we enjoyed it. The pool was nice too, with comfortable water and hours until 9:30 p.m. I'd recommend it.

The room and pool were about what we expected, just OK. But none of the front desk staff made us feel welcome. They were rude, arrogant, dismissive, and unwelcoming. We came back to pay a 1 million COP bill from their sister hotel Aldea Eco Lodge and asked to use the internet for one minute. The receptionist only let us reluctantly. If you want more than an OK room, or want to feel welcome and valued as a guest, don't stay here.
