Aldea Sabatinga

The birds and nature sounds each morning, along with the mountain scenery and animals, are what I’m missing most now. I’d planned on two weeks at Aldea Sabatinga and wound up staying five because leaving was so hard. I got plenty of focused work done, while also enjoying time with the other guests, including sharing typical food from around the world. I met lovely people with inspiring ways of thinking. Thanks so much to Juan for being generous and welcoming me into the wonderful comunidad of San Peregrino. Can’t wait to return.

I felt safe here, and the bus stops right by the main entrance. The internet was steady the whole time. Even my managers were surprised my meetings never dropped, despite being in the middle of the jungle. There are proper work areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and lots of spots to relax, with peaceful jungle views all around. This is a place for connecting with nature and seeing local life. For me, though, Aldea felt more like a family and community than a hostel or coliving. Juan shares his stories and adventures and really cares about everyone, and I felt close to the people there. Beautiful place and people. I recommend it and will be back.

Juan took us hiking one day, and we had a fire pit night and watched a documentary on the projector. I only got to stay a week and really wish it had been longer. Such an amazing experience, thank you so much. A beautiful place to stay, explore, and work, with extraordinary nature around it.

I stayed close to three weeks, though my booking was just for one. I would’ve stayed longer if I didn’t have other travel plans. Aldea Sabatinga gives you privacy and quiet, but you can still spend time with people, whether the other co-livers or Juan’s family. A special place if you want solitude without being cut off from a community.
