The room was dirty, especially around the mini fridge and on the curtain. It was truly disgusting, like it had never been cleaned, and I attached pictures. The room also had broken lamps, poor lighting, and old furniture, which felt embarrassing for an Estelar property. The bathroom fan made a horrible grinding noise. I need a decent night's sleep to rate a place well, and I'm writing this in the middle of the night after a bad one. The room gets baked by the sun, but the windows barely open and there's no AC, so it stays hot and uncomfortable. The bed is hard, and city noise makes sleeping with the window open impossible. The WiFi was only 1.5MB/s, unusable for work, calls, or video. I attached a Speedtest. There was an iron but no ironing board, which is stressful on a busy morning. I can't believe I paid so much for a hotel that was this misleading and disappointing. I can only hope the coffee is good tomorrow, because I'll need it after this terrible sleep.

I picked this hotel for its location and good reviews, hoping for an easy stay after a long bike tour. One night cost me $77 USD. The first night was fine, but when I tried to extend my stay, staff brought out a laundry bag with a towel I'd used to wipe dirt off my hiking shoes and said I'd have to pay to have it washed. They couldn't tell me the cost, saying they'd “let me know tomorrow” because it was Sunday. I was being asked to agree to an unknown charge. I checked and translated the contract, then pointed out that it only allowed a charge if an item was permanently damaged and couldn't be restored by washing. Only after I raised that clause did they say management had decided not to charge me. For that premium rate, the way they handled this was disappointing. I chose not to extend my stay and moved two blocks away to a private apartment with underground parking and a washer/dryer for $33. The location here is good, but watch for extra charges and be prepared to stand up for your rights.

The people, the atmosphere, and the respect they show everyone are what make this hotel the best in town. The location is great too, and it's more than just hotel service. I highly recommend it for business or a vacation. Thank you for the wonderful time I always have here.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and the breakfast was free, with fresh fruit, cheeses, and a selection of warm foods. The hotel was clean and quiet, in a good location with all amenities within walking distance. Our room and bed were cozy and comfortable, and we had a great sunset view. We'll stay again on our next overnight in Manizales. Thanks to all the staff.
