Eco Hotel Terrabella

The place had such a bad smell that breathing felt difficult. Staff blamed a nearby mushroom factory, but when we went into town closer to it, the smell wasn't as strong. The dogs were another issue. They roam around, and Luna bit and nipped at me, my children, and our dogs. We ate in our room after reading that the dogs beg and try to get at guests' plates in the dining area. Also, Santa Helena is up on a hill over the tunnel, so the airport isn't as close as the map suggests, and there's a toll to enter and leave town. The “chef” and reception staff were kind and welcoming, but that was about it. We checked out after one night and are owed a refund for the remaining three nights. We paid the administrator/owner directly, but he wanted Booking to issue the refund. Booking had confirmed and processed everything, yet he now refuses our calls, sends rude and deflecting replies, and keeps avoiding the money. He said he was “too busy” to call, though he sent a ridiculous number of texts and audio messages. Days later, he's still playing dumb about the money. This is not a recommended place. Save yourself and your loved ones the frustration and stay closer to the airport.

After a tough day on our bicycle tour, the staff made us feel welcome, stored our bikes indoors, and even brought us hot chocolate that evening. We left refreshed the next morning. Breakfast came with the stay and was a great start to the day. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped; although it was chilly outside in February, there were plenty of blankets to keep us warm. In an area that can otherwise be expensive, it can be an economical option during off-peak times.

I felt really welcome here. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful, and they brought a good breakfast to the room. My room was spacious, and the Wi-Fi stayed reliable all day while I worked from there. The restaurant doesn't operate during the week, but I found good nearby delivery options, especially Disfruto, which had great food and nice service. There is no heating in the rooms, though, so it gets a bit cold at night.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay. It was very clean, and the staff were really friendly. I'll definitely come back.
