Hostel Rango Boutique

The staff and service were good, but the hostel didn’t live up to my hopes. For approximately $87 per night, I expected more from the room, which wasn’t anything special. The location was also a letdown. It’s on a street that gets quite late at night, and this part of el pablado didn’t feel as nice as other areas. There are better areas to stay in Medellín. Avoid it.

I ended up staying almost a month and would happily return. Everyone, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant, was warm, friendly, and helpful. The place was clean, and people were always there with recommendations or just a little chat. I also enjoyed the activities, especially yoga and barhopping. Huge recommendation :)

It’s in a safe, lovely part of el Poblado, with restaurants and bars nearby and Provenza about a 10-minute walk away. The hostel was meticulous and clean, and I liked the coffee, tea, and water stations. Movie night upstairs was really relaxing. Our double private room was super cute, with an industrial-look sink and an amazing rainfall shower with good pressure and hot water. I only wish there’d been AC, lol, though the fans were enough. Shout out to Octavio, who was engaging, funny, and shared his Mate with me when I arrived. The 24-hour WhatsApp support was great too. I’d definitely come back.

The room was next to the bar, so it got a bit noisy while I was there, especially since it was Helloween. As a woman alone, I also found the area a bit creepy, with lots of homeless people on the street, and felt a little unsafe. Still, I loved the hostel. The people were kind, helpful, and super friendly. It was really clean, I got a free towel, and the laundry was done very well. The bakery had amazing breakfast and coffee. Gracias 🙏🏻
