San Peter Apartments

Laureles is lively, with lots of restaurants nearby. The apartments are nice and close to everything, just one block from LA 70.

The apartments are spacious for the price, and I had a comfortable, firm bed. There’s also a washer-dryer in the condo, a bedroom safe, and reception is open 24 hours. My owner was excellent and quick to respond. For anyone who wants nightlife, the location is right by lively La Setenta, along Carrera 70 in north Laureles, with plenty of restaurants and music. That convenience comes with weekend nighttime noise, and even the thick, well-sealed modern windows can’t block it all. I had to move to the adjacent room to sleep. The building has busy restaurants and bars on both sides, so reception doesn’t systematically check everyone coming in, which made it feel less secure. The decor and fixtures are worn and need refreshing, including floor planks and cracked tiles. The single split-system a/c couldn’t be adjusted, it was either cold at full blast or off. Since it would be impossible to sleep with the windows open, better HVAC is important. The shower only had a rainfall setting, so I had to get my hair wet. Hot water from the tankless electric system was temperamental and inconsistent, and there was no hot water at the bathroom or kitchen sinks or the washer. The washer-dryer saves space, but drying takes hours and only works with half a load.

The staff are great, and I’d definitely come back. The windows are soundproof now, so you don’t have to worry about noise from 70. There’s a sports bar downstairs worth checking out. The bartenders are great, including Joe, and the owner is almost always there.

The apartments are clean and nice, and the upper floors have great views. There’s 24/7 security, and Jose the administrator is very helpful. But the location is VERY NOISY, surrounded by discotecas blasting music from 8pm through 4am. The beds are like rocks, so we had to buy a 400k mattress topper just to sleep.
