I’ve ended up staying here for nearly three months, and whenever I’ve needed something, the staff have helped. They’re gracious, professional, speak English, and are always ready to assist. The rooms are spacious for a hotel, with a separate bedroom, living room, and kitchen. There’s an affordable little restaurant on the first floor, too. Aguacatala is a welcoming, lively neighborhood, and the Metro Train’s Aguacatala stop is just a few steps away. It’s been amazing value for the money.

It’s not a luxury hotel, but for the price I thought it was the best value. I loved my stay. The location works well, with restaurants close by and popular spots about a 5-10 minute drive away. A great option for solo travelers or couples.

There are holes and a kitchen window that won’t close, so the rooms get very noisy. It’s beside a major road, and you hear lots of loud cars. They also shut off the water to my room without telling me.

The room’s location was the only thing that made this stay tolerable for my work. I wouldn’t come back. My room was changed to another one several times at my request because of roaches in the bathroom, on the walls, and around the so-called kitchenette. I also woke up covered in itchy bites each morning. The sofas and beds seemed to have mites, and when I told Duván, he was indifferent, as if this were normal. Nothing was done about these problems during my stay. Duván at reception was dismissive from the moment I arrived and didn’t seem interested in sorting out any of the many issues. The lack of basic hygiene and hospitality was astonishing. Hotel Santa Ana is a disgrace, with filthy conditions, poor service, and staff who don’t respond. Even if you’re desperate, I wouldn’t recommend it. The location is its only redeeming feature, and no job is worth this nightmare.

The hotel is comfortable, the furniture is new, and the staff are great and respectful. But if you work online, please stay somewhere else. I’ve never had Wi-Fi this bad in Medellín, and the owners wouldn’t fix it or give me a refund. As an expat, I’d avoid staying here.
