8/10
The breakfast was good and convenient, and the airport shuttle picked me up and took me back at the end of my trip. Staff were very nice, and the hotel felt safe, with someone in the lobby around the clock. I enjoyed my solo stay at Florencia Plaza in January 2026, and the location is great. The room could use a little updating, including a new mattress and some paint. A very positive experience overall. I’d recommend it to solo travelers. Gracias por todo y espero verte la próxima vez!

Fresh breakfast made to order and good customer service. Late-night festivities are just a few minutes’ walk away, which is very convenient.

We went to Medellin, Colombia for the first time, from July 23 to July 28, 2025, and booked a queen room through Expedia. On July 26, hotel staff told us we had two reservations and had to move. The replacement room had three bunk beds. The bathroom was dirty, the walls had fungus and mold, there were no towels, the AC vent was dirty, and there was a blood stain on the bedsheet. It was also noisy, with street noise coming into the hotel. We spoke with the manager, who blamed Expedia. Expedia told me the hotel was at fault. We do not recommend Florencia Plaza Hotel in Medellin, Colombia.

The place is older, but it’s comfortable, nice, and affordable. It’s in El Poblado, just far enough from the main strip to stay quiet. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a decent TV, and a fridge. Breakfast was cooked fresh each morning.

We didn’t speak Spanish, but things went smoothly with Google Translate and the hotel’s limited English. The room was small, very clean, and had more than we needed. We had such a good stay that we booked an extra night, and the staff were happy to help. The location gets a 10/10.
