Hotel Gran Conquistador 33

The location is good, and the place was basic but clean. Our fifth-floor family room had a great view, though it was very noisy. The air conditioning took a while but worked. The furniture was dated and made a bad first impression. Free breakfast was just a quick serving of eggs and bread. For the expensive price, it wasn't worth it.

The parking garage is free, and they'll somehow fit your car in, though it can get packed. This is a handy spot downtown, very close to the stadium, and the staff are kind and helpful. Breakfast was a nice meal: eggs, bread, crackers and jam, fruit, juice, chocolate milk and coffee. The rooms are simple and clean, with AC. The beds were okay, not great, and come with sheets and a blanket if needed. One bed was missing its top sheet. Traffic made a lot of noise, and a motion light in the hall kept switching on and off. We were so tired that it didn't matter much, but it seemed worth mentioning.

The 24-hour reception and locked parking garage made us feel safe. The building still looks really nice, though it needs maintenance and upgrades. It seems to have been high-end at one point, perhaps apartments or a hotel, but now it's on a busy street in a busy area. Our room had water damage, broken blinds, and a broken window frame that let in a lot of road noise. There's a kitchenette, but no refrigerator, dishes, pans or utensils.

If noise doesn't bother you, this is a perfect budget hotel. For me, though, sleep hygiene is extremely important, so I won't stay here again. The room was noisy all night, with city traffic and even people fighting outside. The hotel was almost perfect apart from that bad sleeping experience.
