What stands out most is the staff: the friendliest and most respectful I've come across. They answer questions and can suggest nearby tours. The hotel is in a quiet, secure area among trees, away from parties and loud noise, with Laureles a few blocks away and local places and restaurants nearby. There's also a rooftop restaurant and lounge where you can relax and take in Medellin's views. I've been to Medellin several times, and this is the best hotel I've stayed in overall. It's not fancy, but it has what I need: rooms cleaned every day and everything working, including the hot showers. I'll definitely come back with friends.

The rooms are plain, almost monastic, but have what you need and nothing extra; the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was generally quiet because of where it's situated. We did hear guests coming in late on Saturday night into Sunday, though that may just have been chance. The staff were very nice, and the hotel was clean. Given the price and location, we expected little, but this is one of the few parts of Belen we'd consider for security and easy access to Laureles. A taxi to the activity in Laureles is probably US $ 3-4, and you can take quite a few rides with the money saved on the room. It's a good basic, no-frills stay if that's what you're after, and I'd recommend it.
The green mango trees are a nice touch, and the hotel has air conditioning and large windows. The nearby busy avenue makes it a bit noisy, though the location is good. Getting the shower temperature right was really hard, and we had to wait five minutes for hot water.
The rooftop restaurant has a lovely view, and the room we eventually got was great, with a big bathtub. But at first they took us to a room with no windows, air conditioning, or fan for our family of four. The receptionist could use more training in welcoming guests and getting them to their rooms faster.
I booked five nights and left after just two, without even asking for a refund. The room was small and basic, with a window facing the stairwell, so you hear everyone coming and going day and night. There was no safety deposit box, deadlock, or peephole, and hot water was out in the mornings. The Wi-Fi was unpredictable too. The staff were nice, but didn't seem interested in fixing any of the problems. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. Look elsewhere.
