I booked a full week in Medellin for February, plus an extra night directly with reception back in October. That WhatsApp conversation went smoothly while I was paying them. Then I became seriously ill with pneumonia and spent the last two weeks of December 2025 in the ICU. My doctors advised against flying because it could seriously affect my recovery, and I have a medical report confirming that. The property only canceled and refunded the week after I got Expedia involved, despite my attempts to contact them. I’m now trying to get back the money for that extra night, but they’re ignoring my messages. Since I paid for it directly, Expedia can’t mediate this time. They seem quick to respond when it involves money coming in, or a one-star review, but not to a person who’s ill and asking for help. The manager replied here but still didn’t have the decency to answer me on WhatsApp. It feels like money is all that matters to them. I can only imagine what the service and facilities are like. Be careful, very bad customer service is what to expect.

Shabby, dirty, and seedy. It looks so much like a place rented by the hour that it should be turned into one.

The only real drawback was having to climb to the fourth floor, since there’s no elevator. Otherwise, the apartment studio was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, and I was surprised to find an oven. The showers had both hot and cold water. Check-in was quick and easy even though we arrived late, and checkout went smoothly too. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Checking in was uncomfortable and difficult. They photograph your credit card, ask for a very large cash deposit, and generally make you feel unwelcome. The whole thing seemed a bit shady.
