The Somos Central Hotel Poblado

A bag of toiletries went missing from our room during the stay. The front desk girl seemed unconcerned, saying she couldn’t do anything herself and would speak to the manager. When I followed up, she told me to email the manager. I did, but got no reply, even though we were reporting a possible theft. I was left with the impression this was considered normal and that toiletries were too small a loss to complain about. At checkout, I asked again. The girl at the desk called the manager, who offered me a full refund and asked me to fill out paperwork. I did, and was told the manager would email me, but they didn’t. Five days after I reported the possible theft, the manager finally emailed to say nothing could be done and they would not refund me. The room was filthy when we arrived. I showered, and a couple of minutes later my feet were so dirty. I don’t think the room had been cleaned. I’ve since read other reviews suggesting small, low-value items like toiletries often go missing, perhaps because people don’t report minor losses. If you want to keep your belongings, don’t stay here.

Luisa at the front desk made a big difference during my stay. She was professional and kind, always ready to help with a smile, from sharing useful recommendations to making sure my room was just right. The whole team was welcoming and attentive, and the place felt warm and well kept. I felt genuinely looked after at Somos Flats. The service and hospitality made the stay memorable, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast had plenty of good options. The hotel sits between the busier part of Medellin and the quieter side of El Poblado, so both are easy to reach on foot. Would definitely recommend it.

We were well looked after by the friendly, polite staff, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast was a lovely start to the day. The hotel is on Calle 10a, close to cafes, restaurants, and shops, with the Blue line Metro station about a 10 minute walk away, making it easy to get around. Just keep in mind that nightlife nearby can be heard late into the night.
