Hotel Melgar Plaza

I came down from Bogotà to escape the altitude, and chose this place after looking around Melgar with my Colombian family. The mixed online reviews made it hard to pick somewhere, so we decided to see places in person. This one looked nice, and we stayed a couple of days. I'm in the middle of the stay now and really enjoying it. The rooms have what we need, since who comes to Melgar to sit in their room all day? The pool is lovely and relaxed, the music is nice, and the atmosphere feels just right. Service has been friendly and lovely, and the food is good, though I haven't tried much yet. I'm visiting from Australia, on an extended stay and my second trip to Colombia. Honestly, I'm wondering why anyone would leave a bad review. I saw a couple from Europeans, and I wish they wouldn't make the rest of us look bad by complaining when there's nothing much to complain about. If Colombian standards don't meet your usual European standards, do us a favor and stay in Europe. Everyone else, come for a few days, kick back, relax, soak it up, and enjoy. Great place. A nice spot to stay and unwind, with a good-sized pool, a water slide, and a game room.

Stay away. This is a very bad hotel, the employees are rude, the service is awful, and the food is even worse. A really bad place.
