Minca Glamping

The included breakfast was generous: lots of fresh fruit, eggs, toast, pastries, juice, and coffee. The place is near enough to walk into town for dinner, and they can also arrange delivery from a few nearby restaurants. That was especially handy on our first night after a long travel day. Their guidebook was full of useful information about local attractions, including realistic hiking times and difficulty levels, which helped when Google Maps wasn't reliable. Nore and Carlos were fantastic hosts. Carlos met us at the gate and kindly carried my suitcase up to reception, where Nore welcomed us with fresh juice. They replied quickly on WhatsApp whenever we needed water, dinner, or other help, and had good local suggestions. When we didn't need anything, they gave us the peace and quiet we wanted. For a secluded, nature-focused stay in Minca, I can't recommend Minca Glamping enough. The privacy and escape of the Deluxe Bungalow are well worth the ten-minute climb from the road, though that walk won't suit everyone. I'd just suggest making the difficulty of that walk clearer before booking. It was fine for us, but some guests may not want to take it on.

The room was lovely, the staff were great, and the bathroom was very nice. The mosquito nets were great too. A couple of things could be improved: some floorboards in our bungalow were unstable, with nails sticking out, which felt dangerous. A private or shared kitchen would also be welcome for the price. There was no soap or shampoo provided. Apart from those details, I'd recommend it and would come back.

The house is spacious, spotless, and really well cared for, and the hosts were warm, helpful, and quick to respond. We liked the simple but delicious breakfast and fresh fruit, and there are plenty of nearby hikes and attractions. This was our favorite stay in Columbia. The jungle setting feels special: the house has netting that keeps out mosquitoes and other insects while still letting you feel almost outdoors. You can see the mountains, nature, and moon from bed. In the morning, a gang of chickens and turkeys wakes you up, with the rooster ruling this bit of jungle. The location feels safe, and Minca village is walkable. It took us 20 minutes from our favorite restaurant, Lazy Cat. The area is fenced, and you get a key for the gate. There's a sturdy bamboo bridge across the river, which was calm and shallow when we were there. We loved the walks, especially at night, and recommend bringing a head torch. The location was amazing, and the owner was kind and helped us with everything we needed. They even offered to bring our luggage to the room. Breakfast was the best we had on our Colombia trip. Totally recommend.
